Equity, diversity and inclusion

The Cinémathèque québécoise values equity, diversity and inclusion in all activities related to its mission.

Acknowledging the existence of inequalities and systemic oppression within society, and their presence in the cultural sphere, is not enough. It is essential to take concrete action to achieve the goals associated with this vision. Eager to reach out to all communities through the cinematic heritage it preserves, diffuses and promotes, the Cinémathèque québécoise aspires to shape its programming, events, projects, cultural mediation and partnerships seeking to offer equal opportunity, collective reflection and debates for real social impact. It seeks to eliminate barriers, both visible and invisible, and to highlight its actions both internally (towards its staff) and externally (towards its community). Building on its history, the Cinémathèque québécoise strives for an inclusive vision, where diversity is celebrated and equity is at the heart of its commitment.
