Here is the jury of the 16th edition of the Sommets du cinéma d'animation (2017) for the Canadian & international competition and the student competition.

JURY OF THE INTERNATIONAL AND CANADIAN COMPETITION

PIERRE-LUC GRANJON

After his Applied Art studies in Lyon, Pierre-Luc Granjon joins studio Folimage. After many short films, he devotes himself to 4 saisons de Léon (coproduction ONF). In 2013, he directs La Grosse Bête (produced by Les Décadrés) and he currently works on his feature film project, L’armée des Lapins (Foliascope).  

 

 

FRANÇOIS LÉVESQUE

Fascinated by the arts in general and cinema in particular, François Lévesque discovered a passion for writing during his Master's degree in cinematographic studies. He has been acultural journalist and film critic at Le Devoir since 2008, he won the 2012 Grand PrizeforIndependent Journalism in the categoryfor"Best Cultural Critic - Writing". He is also the author of numerous black novels,includingA Scarlet Autumn, A House of Smoke, Meanwhile Russell and Into These Deep Woods. In 2009 he was awarded the Cécile-Gagnon Prize for the best first novel for Matshi, the spirit of the lake.

 

JANET PERLMAN

Janet Perlman is an animation director who has worked extensively for the National Film Board of Canada and also as an independent with her own company. Among her awards are an Oscar®, an Emmy, and many international prizes. She has taught animation at Harvard, Rhode Island School of Design and Concordia, and has written and illustrated four children’s books.

 

 

JEAN-LUC DELHOUGNE

Jean-Luc Delhougne is an character animator who works for Blue Spirit Canada. He has worked on the film Minuscule: La Vallée des fourmies perdues as well as the short film Mr.Hublot. Recently he collaborated on the new version of the classic French animated series Les Mystérieuses Cités d'or.
