Easter Peplum

The peplum genre and Easter are rooted in antiquity, and sometimes conjure up a shared imagination. As the slave Spartacus' revolt took place almost a century before the birth of Christ, the coincidence stops there for this Easter screening, but there's never a bad excuse to see or revisit Stanley Kubrick's unforgettable fresco, the jewel in the crown of a genre that's sometimes overlooked.
