Claude Bouffard has a master’s degree in visual arts from Université Paris 8 and an MBA from HEC Montréal. She oversaw operations for l’Institut de création artistique et de recherche en infographie (ICARI), a college-level institution specializing in digital imaging, and for five years in the early 1990s was director of the Contemporary Art Galleries Association (AGAC). During the 1980s, she was involved in teaching and management at le Collège de la Gaspésie and then at l'Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue, where she established the bachelor’s program in visual arts.
